From the President:

Some more progress has been made on the solar panels project. Our electricity smart meter has been installed and we expect the whole system to be inspected next Tuesday morning.

I hope to see some of you on Monday at the Seniors Pairs morning tea; and also some of you at the end of the session on Monday and on Tuesday morning as we move chairs and tables (please see below).

Monday Seniors Pairs - Ambrosia

On Monday 18^th March - this Monday, the first session of the two-week Seniors Pairs we will have short break for morning tea. We would appreciate donations of something sweet or savoury. Please let Pam know if you are able to contribute on that day.

Carpets – Please help this week!

We have plans to have our carpets stretched – to eliminate bubbling and falls – and cleaned; a 2-step process.Please contact John Hempenstall if you can help.

Stretching will be done by a commercial company from 7.30am on Tuesday 19 March.

We need furniture-moving helpers on:

• Monday 18 March at 1.30pm
• Tuesday 19 March from 7.30am

Cleaning will be done by a commercial company from 3pm on Friday 5 April.

We will need furniture-moving helpers from:

• 2pm on Friday 5 April; and after the afternoon session i.e. about 4.15pm
• 30am Saturday morning 6 April – also a general Working Bee at that time

Reserving Tables

Please return “Reserved” table signs back to the front bench when you have secured your table (or at end of session). Do not leave them out after session as this has caused confusion for future sessions about whether the table is available.

BFACT Restricted Championship

If you had < 300 Masterpoints on 31 December 2018, enter the BFACT Restricted Championship; a two-session event held on Sunday 24 March 2019. The first two contending pairs will be offered a subsidy to enter the TBIB Restricted Pairs held on 20-21 July 2019. Conditions apply.

Wednesday Night Bridge – Pizza Night

Our next Pizza Night will be on 3 April from 6.15 pm.

Richard Hills will give a short lecture on ‘When to stop in contested contracts’ and he has some simple easy to remember rules as guidance.
