GNOT Canberra 2 Team – Changed Selection Methods

The Canberra 2 team to contest the 2020 GNOT National Final will be a team of six.  Three pairs will be selected, one pair from each of three GNOT qualifying events held in our clubrooms:

1. the GNOT (Tue) Selection Pairs (Tuesday evenings 16, 23 & 30 June and 7 July);
2. the GNOT (Thu) Selection Pairs (Thursday evenings 20 & 27 August and 3 September);
3. the Gala Day Open Pairs (Sunday 27 September).

The next Pizza night is Wed 4 March from 6:15pm.

Hopefully Christy will give a talk on slam bidding, but the topic is yet to be confirmed.

BFACT ANC Seniors Team Selection – Stage 1

• Thursday Evenings - 5th, 12th & 19th March 7.30pm
• Pairs Qualifying Event. Entrants must be born before 1/1/1960
• In addition there will be a 3 week Butler Pairs event for non-seniors
• Enter online or sign up on the entry sheet in the Barry Turner room.

CBC Egon Larson Pairs

• Tuesday Evenings at 7:30pm - 3rd, 10th & 17th March
• Enter online or sign up on the entry sheet in the Barry Turner room.

Beginners Bridge Lessons

Our next course for learning to play Bridge begins:

• March 16^th: Monday evenings, 7pm
• March 20^th: Friday mornings, 10am

The course contains 6 lessons (skipping the Easter long weekend), and includes a textbook, detailed notes and three free supervised play sessions.

The cost is $69, but pay before 9^th March and only pay $59 (save $10).

Travel Associates Seniors Matchpoint Pairs

• Monday 10am, 16^th & 23^rd March
• Walk-in event; no pre-registration.
• There will be a brief break for morning tea on 23^rd March

ANC Women’s Team Selection

• Weekend of Friday 20^th – 22^nd March
• Friday 20^th may not be required, depending on entrant numbers.

Supervised Play & Lessons

• Monday evenings, 7:00pm
• Friday mornings, 9:30am
• 20 minute free lesson, then play in the Supervised Play section to reinforce your learning (normal table fees apply).
• You do not need a partner for Supervised Play.

• 9^th & 13^th March – Pre-emptive Openings
• 16^th & 20^th March – Weak 2D/2H/2S opening

Barb Toohey will run a 4-week course on Competitive Bidding and Defence.

• 11^th March to 1^st April, on Wednesdays at 2pm
• $15 per lesson, or $55 for all 4 lessons.
