Registration of BBO usernames on the ABF Mailing List

You need to register your username with the Australian Bridge Federation (if not already done so) in order to receive masterpoints from any online session held under the ABF Scheme (ie all CBC sessions online) from the end of this month.

Many/most of our players will have done so over the last few months.

If you are unsure, either go to http://www.abfevents.com.au/bbo.asp to check or contact the managers This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The managers have a list that was correct on 26 August. It is in alphabetical order by BBO username. Please supply that name.

Monday evening duplicate and competition sessions

CBC will run a Monday Evening face to face session at the clubrooms from Monday 31 August.

We are very lucky that Christy Geromboux will be the Director.

Please remember that due to COVID-19 Safety the Club will not be open for entry until 6:40pm (20 minutes before the session starts).
Purchase vouchers, 5 at a time ($50/45), by direct deposit to BSB 032 730 Acct no. 355176 Then remember to deposit one voucher in the container in the foyer each time that you play.
Vouchers (pack of 5) will be available for purchase at the door with exact cash/cheque only.

On Monday 7 September at 7.15pm we will commence a program of Club championship events.
You must enter by midday Friday 4th September.

Returning to Bridge in the Club Rooms

We remind anyone who has not yet played in the clubrooms under Covid restrictions that:

you must be well
you must not have been in a hotspot in the last two weeks or in contact with anyone who has
you must not be in isolation
you must have read, and agree to comply with, the CBC Covid Plan and Checklist

However, it is not possible to play bridge in the clubrooms in a way that completely removes all COVID-19 risks. For example, we can minimise the handling of boards and cards, but we cannot eliminate that handling. The Committee understands that some members will not want to play face-to-face bridge at this time given their personal situation and health issues. We urge all members to consider their own circumstances and decide what is best for them.

We have been advised by ACT Health that at this stage, temperature checks on entry are not required. Following this advice, we have ammened our current Safety Plan and proceedures to not require it at this time.

"Mingling" - unnecessary interactions between individuals - is forbidden due to problems with the spread of Covid. It is therefore critical that players do not move between rounds until told to do so by the director.
