From the President
We had over 80 attendees at the William Jenner-O'Shea workshop on "Improving your Overcalls and Competitive Bidding" last weekend. Feedback has been very positive and those who missed out can still gain a benefit by buying the notes booklet available from the office at just $5. It is a great summary of what we learnt which would be a benefit for all members and their bookshelves.
A lot of preparation took place organising the day and I would like to express thanks to Bruce Chapman, Patricia McDonald and their helpers Andrew Struik, Margaret Kyburz, Mary Tough, Susan Walters and Val Carmody for all their hard work.
You may have noticed the beautifully presented prizes on the front table which constitute our annual raffle. A special thanks to the donors who have made this all possible. Please take the opportunity to support the Club and the Club charity for 2022 - Radio 1RPH - by buying tickets 1 for $2 or 3 for $5. We will draw it at the Christmas party on Wednesday 21 December. Details to follow.
Take time to converse with your fellow table attendees, so you can get to know them better and find common interests.

Canberra in Bloom - Combined Clubs Working Group - Volunteers Needed
BFACT needs a couple of volunteers to be on the Combined Clubs Working Group to help organise the Canberra in Bloom event to be held in September/October 2023. If you have experience in similar events or would be interested in developing your skills in this area please contact Tim Mather or the managers by Friday 9 December and they will advise BFACT of your interest.
Barnardos Christmas Giving Tree
It’s the season of giving and this year we are again supporting the Barnardos Christmas Giving Tree Appeal which collects gifts for children of all ages who would otherwise miss out on Christmas gifts.
If you would like to support this Appeal please bring unwrapped gifts for boys and girls and leave them under our Christmas tree. While gifts for any age are appreciated, Barnardos always finds it most difficult to provide suitable gifts for teenagers such as gift vouchers for movies, bowling, JBHI-Fi, or sports stores, hygiene or pamper packs, and clothes. Barnardos have provided a list of gift ideas for all ages, which is available from the managers.
